On July 23rd, Governor Inslee announced an expansion to the face covering order initially imposed on June 26th. Effective Saturday, July 26th, face coverings are required in all common spaces such as elevators, hallways and shared spaces within condominiums and apartments. It is expected that all residents and their visitors wear masks while traversing and occupying common areas of the building until further notice.
We realize that this is an encumbrance to all residents, but thank you for doing your part to keep our community healthy and safe. The Association’s Insurance Carrier inspected the community and made the recommendation that owners install No-Burst Washing Machine Hoses. If your washing machine is connected to bare rubber hoses, you’re risking thousands of dollars’ worth of water damage. Under constant water pressure, these hoses are prone to leaks or even bursting!
No-burst washing machine water hoses are encased in a woven metal sleeve that prevents weak spots in the rubber from developing into leaks. The washer water hoses are available at home centers and through Amazon; installing the washer water hose is relatively easy. If you are uncomfortable with this task, or need help a handyman or Urban Maintenance might be able ti assist. It is strongly recommended that no-burst hoses (aka burst-proof hoses) be installed on your washing machines. We’re Cleaning Dryer Vents!
As part of the on-going maintenance to prevent fire and safety hazards, the Board has scheduled mandatory vent cleaning NEXT WEEK from Tuesday, September 24th through Friday, the 27th, beginning at 8:00 AM. A crucial part of this process involves vacuuming the lint from the interior of the appliance, as well as the duct between the interior wall and outside vent. The dryer will be pulled away from the wall so that a special vacuum may be inserted into the interior of the appliance, the dryer hose and finally the duct in the wall, thereby removing all lint and debris. We cannot perform this procedure without access to your home. If Canal Station does not currently have a copy of your unit key on file, please drop one by the office or make arrangements with someone to facilitate entry. We cannot guarantee or even “guesstimate” a time-frame as to when to technician will be at your unit. At this juncture we hope to adhere to the following schedule: Tues., Sept. 24: Units 201-209, 301-309, 401-409, 501-509 & 601-609 Wed., Sept. 25: Units 210-220, 310-320, 410-420, 510-520 & 608 618 Thurs., Sept. 26: Units 223-227, 321-327, 421-427, 521-527 & 619-625 Fri., Sept 27: Units 228-233, 328-333, 428-433, 528-533 & 626-631 And all 1st Floor Residential Units Please have the area in front of, and beside, your laundry machines and outside dryer vents clear.
