Pet Grass Patches
Just a friendly reminder that the disposable grass patches need to be taken to the Yard Waste Bins in the first floor trash rooms. People have been great about taking them to the first floor, but please do not put them in the regular trash or recycling. Thank you!
Creative Button Pushing
This pandemic has certainly pushed everyone’s buttons. We have been watching as people use gloved hands, special tools, elbows, etc. We were surprised someone used his feet! While creative, it’s a huge source of germs. Please use another option and be gentle. We just replaced the P2 button which was pushed through the wall!
Have you received Chinese Seeds?
If you have the Washington State Department of Agriculture wants them! Check your email from Lana on 7/31 with instructions on what to do and where to send them.

Please, please, please be sure you, your guests and vendors are wearing masks in the common areas. Not only is it a state mandate, but we care and want you and your loved ones healthy!
On July 23rd, Governor Inslee announced an expansion to the face covering order initially imposed on June 26th. Effective Saturday, July 26th, face coverings are required in all common spaces such as elevators, hallways and shared spaces within condominiums and apartments. It is expected that all residents and their visitors wear masks while traversing and occupying common areas of the building until further notice.
We realize that this is an encumbrance to all residents, but thank you for doing your part to keep our community healthy and safe.

Masks Required in Common Areas/Elevators
Just a friendly reminder that the Governor has required masks in all common spaces. This also applies to the common areas of our community – especially elevators. Thanks to everyone for wearing those masks!
Fireworks on the Leary Side of the Building
We’ve had complaints that there were fireworks on both the Leary and 20th sides of the building. Fireworks are illegal in the City of Seattle and are a fire/safety hazard, particularly in multifamily buildings. Years ago, it was necessary to pay overtime for staff to monitor the community. Unfortunately, we are now forced to review this issue.
Boxes, Flattened Please
With everyone being home, we’re still seeing parcel levels at that of the holiday season. Please remember to flatten your boxes and take oversized items to the trash room on the first floor.
Middle of the Road (and parking spaces)
We’ve had a couple people ask that we remind people to park in the middle of their parking spaces. A few older residents have had to crawl out passenger doors and back hatches because neighboring vehicles were parked too close to or on the line. Thank you for your help!

Masks in Common Areas, Especially Elevators
Most of our residents are using masks in the common areas. However, the Board wanted to remind everyone that wearing masks is especially crucial in our elevators. Living in a community, you likely come across people with high-risk factors, quite frequently. Please help keep everyone safe by always wearing your mask in the elevator and common areas.
ALL Amenities Remain Closed Until Further Notice
We’d like to thank everyone who has refrained from using the Conference Room, Lounge and other unlocked amenities. At this point, we do not have a reopening date – but will advise you as soon as those areas are available. THANK YOU to everyone who has adhered to the signage throughout the building and helped to take care of each other by staying out of those areas.

Canalstation.org has an abundance of information from what to do about noisy neighbors to handling someone parked in your spot. Owners can create an account to access financials, minutes, the latest building Insurance Certificate and more!

Update Office Email Addresses
Some residents are still using the old email addresses which end with integra.net. We are severing our relationship with this internet provider. If you aren’t already, please use the following email addresses to: Officemgr@canalstation.org, email@example.com, and firstname.lastname@example.org
Office Team Returns
Beginning June 2nd, Brian will be in the office from 8am-4pm Mon, Tues and Wed. Lana will be in the office from 6am-2pm Thurs and Friday, then Saturday from 9am to 5pm. We are still available by email if you need to reach us Monday through Friday. We are able to schedule the elevator for large furniture deliveries and moves during these hours, contact Lana for help with scheduling.
New Rule Regarding Pests
There was an incident involving pests last month. The Board wanted to further clarify the rules regarding the responsibility of pest control and has approved the following rule, “If one specific unit is found to be the source of or host to pests (insects or rodents) all association costs to test, remediate or mitigate will be charged to that unit owner.”

Think outside your patio…
With everyone at home, combined with nice weather, windows are open and patios are being used. Please consider how noise travels and how the wind might carry odors, pet fur and hair from home haircuts to other residents’ patios. Thanks in advance for your help!
Carts on P2 and P3
With everyone home, the carts are depended upon more heavily. It is especially important to return the carts to the P2 and P3 elevator lobbies. Thanks for ensuring carts are available to everyone!
Trash, Recyclables and Food Waste
With the up-tick in parcels and those eating at home, our trash rooms are overflowing. Please remember to put food waste in the compost bins, break down your boxes and take large ones to the main trash room and refrain from putting any Styrofoam or over-sized items down the chute.
Stay Home Order extended through May
Staff is in the office on Tuesday mornings and during pre-scheduled moves. Please be sure to plan far in advance as there are additional logistics required if you need to move. Large deliveries remain on hold until the Stay Home Order is lifted. We are looking forward to seeing you more consistently soon!

As you know, the Governor has extended the Stay Home Order through May 4. Staffing for the property will remain as is through the end of this period. Danny will continue doing a great job with cleaning/sanitizing. Email Lana if you need anything – don’t call, no one is there to answer!
We are not able to take reservations for the elevator, outside of full move ins/outs. Make arrangements FAR in advance as bookings fill quickly and staff needs to be brought in to assist you. Again, there is no availability for other types of furniture moves, so deliveries and furniture going out will need to wait.

We’ve noticed several residents using paper towels on door handles, wearing gloves and/or masks, using their elbows for the elevator call buttons or hip to open the crash bars on the doors. THANK YOU for caring about your community and taking extra precautions. We care about you and are happy to see everyone taking extra steps to keep the community safe!
Dear Canal Station Community,
Below is the latest update following Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home” order for non-essential personnel.
Danny handles the bulk of custodial and sanitation services; he is an “essential employee.” We have shifted away from dusting and vacuuming, and are focused on disinfecting surfaces and keeping up with trash/recycling and food waste. Please be aware, he will be working in the early morning hours to limit the number of people with whom he interacts. Do not be surprised if you don’t see him – he’s working hard for you!
Our Managers are both working from home. We do not have access to the office phone lines from home. We will come into the office for emergencies or previously scheduled moves.
You can expect to see us for a few hours next Tuesday morning, when we reconvene to assess how this plan is working. Until then, keep washing your hands and let us know if you need anything!
As guidelines and restrictions for Covid-19 evolve, so do Canal Station's
efforts to minimize the spread of the virus.
Effective immediately, all amenities are closed until further notice.
The fitness center has been locked; the machines in our business center are disabled. The
sauna and spa are closed. Also, we are not taking reservations for
gatherings in the Lounge or Conference Room. There is one event on the
calendar; canceling will be at that homeowner's discretion.
In the event of a Shelter-In-Place Order, staffing and services will be

emergency maintenance line so managers may be aware of the situation.
