Unclogging the tub drain

Hair often clogs the drain creating unpleasant backup which can lead to the larger problem of clogging your neighbor's pipes. To unclog your drain simply remove the head of your plug. This allows you to remove the drain plug for easy access to the problem. Once the drain plug is removed you can get rid of any unwanted hair, creating a clear pathway for your drain pipes. Note: please do not use Draino or other declogging substances sold in local grocery stores; the pipes are plastic and these chemicals will damage the pipes. Instead, try a mixture of baking soda and warm water to clear away any remaining excess.

Keeping your disposal in order

1. ​Run your disposal regularly & with cold water (this prevents rust & corrosion)
2. Don't put any grease down the drain, but if grease does end up in the disposal make sure to run cold water to help it solidify making it easy to dispose of
3. Do grind hard materials such as: small pieces of chicken, fish, eggshell, and fruit pits; this action actually helps clean the disposal walls.
